KYLE COOPER

CEO

Kyle has over a decade of power generation O&M experience.  Kyle has a BS in Nuclear Engineering, an MBA, and is a licensed professional engineer in NC.  Immediately prior to joining ACT Power Services, Kyle was the VP of O&M for one of the nation's largest solar only O&M providers at Cypress Creek Renewables.  At CCR, Kyle was responsible for a portfolio comprised of over 3GW of solar facilities located in 18 states and a work force of over 100 personnel located in 12 states. Kyle began his career with Duke Energy, where he gained experience in nuclear plant engineering, maintenance, and operations.

JUSTIN AMASON

COO

Justin is a licensed electrician in NC, SC, GA, TX and eligible for license reciprocation in many other states.  Justin is a veteran of the solar industry with various roles and responsibilities from:  installer, electrical apprentice, crew leader, and Master Electrician.  Most recently, Justin was the Director of Operations for Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR) dating back to 2016.   In this role Justin helped build out, train, and manage the field electrical technicians for CCR O&M.  This group managed over 3 GWs of operating solar assets with zero OSHA recordable injuries and 99.7% system availability.  Prior to CCR, Justin was Director of Operations at Baker Renewable Energy (Baker Roofing) from 2014-2016.  In this role Justin managed all aspects of estimating, engineering, procurement and construction.

BECKY COOPER

CCO AND GENERAL COUNSEL

Rebecca is a North Carolina licensed attorney and a mechanical engineer. Rebecca earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a JD from Campbell University School of Law where she was on Campbell’s Law Review and graduated Magna Cum Laude.  While in law school, Rebecca worked with the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association where she was introduced to the legal intricacies of the renewable energy industry.  Rebecca also has professional legal experience in litigation, construction law, and patents. Prior to her career in law, Rebecca was an engineer at Duke Energy’s Brunswick Nuclear Plant where she was responsible for monitoring and maintaining plant systems, as well as ensuring plant compliance with federal regulations. As ACT Power's General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, she can blend her engineering and legal skills to bring a unique perspective to solar O&M.

KRISTIN SUMNER

BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Kristin brings over 14 years of working knowledge as an experienced Office Executive to the ACT Power Services team. Kristin earned a BA in Communication from East Carolina University with a focus on Public Relations and Business Administration. Kristin is also a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Agent. Prior to joining the ACT team she spent over 14 years in Property Management overseeing all aspects of business operations for several large properties and portfolios in both Greenville, NC and Raleigh, NC. Working as Business Operations Manager, Kristin will implement processes and practices across the organization to ensure effective corporate operations.

IMRAN HASSAN

DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

Imran Hassan is a senior member of our team, responsible for the technical oversight of our operations. Imran has a BS in Electrical Engineering and 15+ years of experience in the renewable energies industry and  telecommunication sectors. Prior to joining ACT, Imran worked with NextEra Energy, Goldman Sachs and Cypress Creek Renewables, where he focused on PV performance optimization and management of acquired assets. Imran's deep experience spans all aspects of solar operations and includes over 3GW of field inspections, commissioning and configuring countless DAS/SCADA systems, facility retrofits, and O&M process optimization.

CHRIS STEVENS

Continuous Improvement Manager

Chris brings valuable solar O&M experience to the team. Chris earned his BS in Physics from Michigan State University and his MS from Appalachian State University and has been working to expand his skillset to touch all roads of the renewable energy industry. After leaving Appalachian State he worked with Carolina Solar Services as an Operations Specialist, operating and evolving their CMMS ecosystem to increase operation efficiency. As ACT's Continuous Improvement Manager, Chris is responsible for the development and management of work processes and ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency are a focus of all activities.

SEAN MCCORMICK

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND COMPLIANCE

Sean brings a great combination of solar operations experience and NERC compliance expertise to the team. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Engineering Management from Duke University. Prior to joining ACT, Sean spent over five years at Cypress Creek Renewables performing roles as a System Performance Engineer, Control Center Manager, and Director of Operational Compliance. His accomplishments in those roles include developing operations procedures, training operations personnel, implementing NERC compliance policies and processes, and successfully completing a SERC audit with no findings. Sean is a NERC Certified System Operator and has been an active member of NERC and solar industry initiatives promoting reliable integration of renewables into the bulk electric system.

GLENN FITZGERALD

DIRECTOR OF FIELD OPERATIONS

Glenn has nearly a decade of utility scale solar O&M experience. Glenn earned a BS in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University and has been working hard to improve the value of renewable energy ever since. Glenn holds numerous Inverter OEM Service certifications and is a level 2 Thermographer. Glenn began his career with Baker Renewables as an Asset Management and Protection Construction Manager.  He then transitioned to Cypress Creek Renewables where he was instrumental in developing one of the industry's first comprehensive drone programs and was promoted to a Regional Manager in charge of over 700 MWdc of PV facilities.  Immediately prior to joining the ACT Team, Glenn was a Manager for the Special Projects Group at CCR. In this role Glenn helped manage insurance and large warranty claims, lead root cause analysis task forces, and other technical and logistical services.

DREW LEON

DIRECTOR OF FIELD OPERATIONS

Drew Leon is an experienced solar operations manager with over a decade of successful experience working for organizations in the utility solar market.  Drew holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University, is an authorized OSHA General Industry Outreach trainer, FAA Part 107 remote pilot, has held a NABCEP installer license for 6 years, and holds multiple industry specific certifications for medium-voltage, thermography, and inverter equipment.  Drew has had a unique perspective in the solar industry, starting as a QC/QA lead with Strata Solar on their first 500MW which led to a role as an Asset Manager with RadianGEN where he was able to leverage his commissioning experience to remotely manage operations on another 500mw of projects ranging from 50kw-15mw and located between southern California and Northern Ontario.  He later joined Cypress Creek Renewables as one of the first Plant Managers within the company for a 75MW site owned by a utility.  Drew went on to design and implement a transformer oil testing program and focused on substation safety and maintenance.  Drew is currently acting as the Co-Director of Field Operations at ACT Power Services where he is able to utilize his unique background to help the organization grow into one of the top and most reliable O&M providers in the US.

CRAIG FLORES

MID WEST REGIONAL MANAGER

Craig began his career as a commercial electrician focusing on new construction and service after studying Electronics Technology at Grand Rapids Community College.  From there, he entered the healthcare industry as a medical equipment field service engineer, later becoming the Field Service Project Manager where he managed capital equipment installations on a global scale; specializing in audio/video integration in operating rooms gaining a strong background in networking and IT.  He also served as the project and operations manager for a low voltage electrical company where he managed a crew of 23 members rendering services such as fiber optic back bone, phone/data systems, fire alarm, security/intrusion, DAS, access controls, and video surveillance. Craig is also a CAPM certification and is actively working to achieve is PMP.

ALEJANDRO ANEZ

NC REGIONAL MANAGER

Alejandro has 10+ year experience in Project Management for Simel Ltda. one of Santa Cruz’s oldest electrical engineering companies in Bolivia, South America. Alejandro started as an assistant project manager doing cost and project proposals, material procurement, field/site supervision and project progress development on multiple power line construction projects in rural areas of Bolivia.  His journey in the renewable energy field started when he moved to North Carolina in 2018 and entered the Renewable Energy Management program at NCSU. After completing the program he started working for Southern Energy Management (SEM) as a Field Inspections Technician. Later he transitioned to installation and O&M of commercial and residential solar systems and battery storage. Throughout his career, he has constantly found that his greatest successes have been achieved in innovative, team-oriented, and fast paced environments where his drive for constant improvement can be satisfied.

TROY ANDERSON

WESTERN REGIONAL MANAGER

Troy joins the ACT team as an industry veteran with over 20 years in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining ACT he held roles as a Plant Manager, Instrumentation and Electrical Manager, Shift Supervisor, Master Trainer and Control Room Supervisor.  Troy retired from the US Army National Guard in 2015 where he held the position as a Squad Leader. Troy's extensive experience in leadership and in industrial controls and maintenance are an incredible addition to the ACT Field Service Team.

JUERGEN LUNKWITZ

SENIOR FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER

Juergen has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Drexel University and over a decade of experience constructing power plants all over North America including in some of the most remote and logistically challenged work areas such as Northern Canada. In 2019 he transitioned to renewables with Sun Tribe Solar, Virginia’s #1 behind the meter EPC company. With Juergen’s wide range of construction experience in field engineering, project controls and client relations, he developed and strengthened Sun Tribe Solar’s construction team as Director of Field Operations.  Juergen joined ACT Power Services in September 2020 as Senior Operations Manager where he will blend his years of big construction and commercial solar to ensure that ACT Power Services is a leader in O&M.

PAUL DAVIS

PLANT MANAGER

Paul has 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, primarily in utility scale wind power. Paul began as an O&M technician in his home state of Texas, before transitioning to construction as a commissioning technician in 2012. Paul joined one of the largest wind turbine OEMs, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, as a Commissioning Supervisor in 2016 and led the successful commissioning of over 700 MW of wind energy projects. During his time with Siemens he also became a certified generator and power converter specialist and assisted with the development of energy isolation and LOTO procedures. Paul brings experienced technical knowhow and a strong culture of safety to the ACT Power Services team.

MICHAEL HILLS

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Michael graduated from Rend Lake College in Illinois with his Information Technology degree. His main concentration was in Cisco Systems, but he has multiple certifications in the IT field. Michael recently began with ACT Power Services as a Field Service Technician and is looking forward to gaining hands-on experience to further his career in the solar energy sector. Not only does Michael have extensive knowledge of IT systems, but he is also able to apply this information to multiple areas of his work as a Field Service Technician in order to ensure comprehensive maintenance planning and efficient work output. Mike brings an unique skill set to the team and is excited to work with other individuals from which he can learn and build his knowledge base.

JOE TEAGUE

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Joe is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS in Appropriate Technology and a passion for renewable energy technologies.  Prior to joining ACT, Joe gained experience in residential and commercial solar installation and technical support that he gained while working for nearly 4 years at Southern Energy Management.  Joe strives to see the solar industry grow and is dedicated to growing alongside of it.

JASON GERSTLEY

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Jason earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Houston, Texas.  Jason started his career in Oil & Gas with Texas United Chemical, working his way into procurement.  About 6 years later, Jason transitioned into solar, deciding that he wanted to help the environment through sustainability.  Starting from the ground up, Jason forged a career that would eventually lead him to becoming a Mechanical superintendent, handling payroll for 160+ employees, as well as continuing procurement responsibilities.  After trying his hand at the Operations and Maintenance side of things, he has no plans of turning back!

DARREN WOOLARD

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Darren joins the ACT team with six years of solar experience.  He began his solar career with Sun Energy 1 where he progressed from a general laborer in the electrical department to an Electrical Superintendent.  Most recently, Darren worked with Carolina Solar Services as a Solar Technician in Operations and Maintenance where he gained extensive knowledge related to racking, inverter, communication, and other solar technologies. Darren brings excellent troubleshooting and O&M process skills to the ACT team.

LELON STOTESBERRY

FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Lelon has an AS in Electrical Engineering from Beaufort Community College and is currently pursuing a BS in Industrial Engineering Technology from East Carolina University. Prior to joining ACT, Lelon worked with Thermo Fisher Scientific where he managed inventory and QA process for products utilized in the production of pharmaceuticals.  Lelon looks forward to applying his electrical experience and education within the solar O&M industry

MATT ZAMBO

ARCC OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Matt earned a BS  in mechanical engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Prior to entering the solar industry, Matt worked in the cellular communications industry designing cell phone towers and concealments.  From there, he worked as an operator at Cypress Creek Renewables where he was responsible for managing plant operations for over 2.5 GW of solar.  Matt was then promoted to become an Operations Engineer, where he managed a solar portfolio of 60+ sites and worked together with asset managers, third parties, and field technicians.

MICHAEL SMITH

ARCC OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Michael brings over a decade of O&M experience from various parts of the energy industry. Michael began his energy career serving aboard the USS Enterprise as an Electronics Technician/Reactor Operator. From there he became an Auxiliary Operator at a 550MW Natural Gas Combined Cycle Plant in Rincon, GA. Previous to ACT, Michael was the Lead Control Center Operator at Cypress Creek Renewables where he led the day to day operations inside the control center.

JIM MORRISON

ARCC OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Jim is a Tarheel born and bred, graduating from UNC with a BA in Public Policy with a focus on environmental policy and a Minor in Sustainability Studies.  After school, he has worked with a number of organizations across the NC Solar Industry, ranging from renewable energy advocates, utility scale developers, and commercial solar EPCs. Jim went on to work with E8 Energy Group as a Development Manager in which he generated 200MW+ pipeline of commercial and utility scale projects, assisted with construction team planning and managed client relationships.  He is looking forward to building on his solar experience and expanding into O&M with ACT.

NICK ZAMBO

ARCC OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Nick has an AS in Engineering and earned his BA in History from the University of Colorado at Denver.  Before entering the solar industry, Nick began his career working for an Electric Utility.  Nick then worked in the hotel industry as an Operations Manager and in the healthcare sector as a Patient Services Manager.  From there, he became an 8th Grade Civics teacher, educating the future of our great country.  Leaving the customer service and education fields behind, Nick brings with him 20 years of experience in fast paced, demanding environments where surety and decisiveness of action are required. Returning to the power industry, Nick hopes to continue his education and become a more effective and efficient operator, while helping ACT provide the best possible O&M service to our portfolio.

SHAUNDRA MCMILLON

ARCC OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Shaundra earned a B.S. in Electronic/Electrical Engineering from Virginia State University. She has been waiting to break into the solar energy industry since college. She believes that solar will be a positive pathway for the future and is glad to be part of the change. With her enthusiasm, she also brings in hands-on skills with safety compliance and quality control testing. Before she started at ACT Power Services she started her career as a Quality Control Technician in manufacturing for two product lines at GE, Limitamp Motor Control and Medium Voltage Motor Control. Both of these types of equipment are used in paper, steel, cement, rubber, mining, petroleum, chemical, and utility-type industries. She then transitioned to UL as a Test Engineer. Working with internal and external clients in testing IT equipment, laser devices, lighting fixtures, control devices,  components, and more for electrical safety compliance. She is looking to jump in feet first in the solar O&M and learn as much as possible and grow within the company.

KATELYN DUNNAGAN

ARCC OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Katelyn is a recent graduate from Illinois State University class of 2021. She earned her Bachelors in Sustainable and Renewable energy with a minor in Environmental Studies. Her recent studies have prepared her with the knowledge of solar system functions and experience with project development. She was part of the 3rd place team for NREL’s 2020 Solar District Cup competition, where she was head of the design and construction development teams. This experience has given her a significant drive to learn more and gain a better understanding of solar O&M operations.

LEIF KVARNES

ARCC OPERATIONS ENGINEER

Leif has a BS in Physics with minors in Engineering, Mathematics, and Studio Art from Randolph College. He is passionate about the public perception of science and technology and ran SciFest, an educational outreach program that introduces young adults to scientific concepts and future careers in STEM.  He worked in the R&D cosmetics industry with C.B. Fleet in Lynchburg, VA before moving to North Carolina and starting his career in solar with ACT Power Services.  Leif is excited to learn a lot with ACT and to further his career in solar.

CORINA PENN-BARTOO

ARCC OPERATOR

Corina is a veteran of the utility scale solar PV industry and brings a diverse skillset and deep understanding of PV power plants from ground to grid. Her career, starting in 2013 with Strata Solar, includes working on construction of >50MW in North Carolina and Tennessee, operations and maintenance support and field work, and managing plant field service on >20 sites totaling >100MW in western NC.  As a member of ACT's operations team, Corina applies her unique experiences and passion for a better future to assist ACT in providing safe and reliable solar operations to our entire portfolio
